John Cannon, Ph.D. LIMHP, LADC, ACRPS, PECP

John earned his Ph.D. in psychology from Saybrook Graduate School in California. Dr. John Cannon is a Certified Gottman Therapist (CGT) working with couples in order to help create and maintain greater love and health in relationships, John is also an Advanced Certified Relapse Prevention Specialist (ACRPS), a model of treatment integrating biological, cognitive, affective, behavioral and social therapies in working with people suffering with alcohol/drug addictions, depression or anxiety.

Additionally, Dr. Cannon is a Certified Performing Edge Coach, PECP. He is dedicated to the development of human potential in sports, music, the corporate boardroom, or any other arena of performance which would benefit from the Performing Edge.

John helps his clients develop the positive mental attributes necessary for attaining their own unique and specific goals. He has worked as a clinician for 25 years, joining Arbor Family Counseling in January of 2007. John is trained in Adlerian psychotherapy. He is a published author, having co-authored “How Can This Be” the Epilogue for The Psychological Impact Of War Trauma On Civilians, Praeger Publishers and A Humanistic Approach to the Psychology of Trauma from Living With Terror, Working With Trauma A Clinician’s Handbook published by Rowman & Littlefield.
